SUBJECT: PTA Tiger Times 02/19

Dear {{recipient_firstname}},

I cannot believe we are already at the end of the second trimester. Soon we will have been living in this new normal for a year. It has not been easy for our students, teachers, or parents to be so disconnected and apart. We are trending in the correct direction in Orange County, are cases our down, and hopefully, we can all be together in person soon!

In addition to these global changes, my family will also be facing a new adventure. We will be relocating at the beginning of the third trimester. Santiago Hills has been the anchor of our home in Irvine. My kids could not have settled so well into a new culture and country without our wonderful staff, and active community. We have loved being a part of the Tiger Family and we're so sad to leave.

Because I will be out of state, I will sadly resign, and our EVP Kirsty Matsuda will be president for the last trimester. We have been working closely together all year, and I am certain the transition will be smooth. You will be in good hands!

I am thankful for all of you, and we will miss you!

We need your photos!

One of our number one goals this year as a PTA has been to create a yearbook for our students. We need your help to make it happen! Please, keep sending photos. Please write your student's name and teacher's name on the subject line. It makes organizing the photos much easier. We are happy to receive family photos, online learning photos, spirit wear photos, different masks, outdoor activities, anything you have been doing this year! Send your photos to yearbook@santiagohillspta.com.

Also, if you have a sixth-grader, please follow this link. We need your interviews and photos as soon as possible!

Volunteer, Make a Difference and Meet New Friends!

Volunteering and being part of the school community has been a great way for our family to meet new people and make new friends. Without the PTA we would have not met many of the wonderful people in our life!

It has been hard this year to connect and communicate without actually seeing anyone, and not being able to participate in the school activities on campus. Next year, and any normal year, in fact, will hopefully look different. If you have a little extra time, I recommend becoming more active in the PTA next school year! Everyone is welcome!

Taking a role on the PTA board is an amazing way to connect with our school community including our principal and teachers. Your impact will be felt by the students and appreciated. Please consider stepping into a role within the board, or looking for opportunities to chair a committee in this upcoming school year. Please email parliamentarian@santiagohillspta.comif you would be willing to volunteer for the board or if you have any questions.

Buy A Yearbook

We are excited to partner with TreeRing for our yearbook this year. You’ll be allowed to customize two pages in your yearbook for free, making sure your child’s favorite memories are captured. Click here to purchase - even though it will take you to TreeRing’s site, you’ll still be connected to Santiago Hills when you create your free account if you use our school code 1015857553713697.

IUSD's Annual Survey

Just a friendly reminder to please take a few minutes to complete IUSD’s Annual Survey. Our school uses the data to help assess the needs of our students and we compare changes over time to see how our climate evolves. Our teachers take it, our students take it, but we don’t often have a high participation rate from parents, but your opinion matters, so we hope you’ll take the time! Thank you.
